Transgender accused takes to the stand and denies raping woman

A MAN accused of rape and sexual assault has taken to the stand and told a jury he had consensual sex with a woman, but did not rape her.

Nadine Natasha Williams, also known as Dean, told a jury at Swansea Crown Court his version of events from October 4, 2011.

He said he met the woman outside a pub in Neath and bought the pair dinner and two bottles of wine.

He said the pair had been flirting throughout dinner.

"She said something about my eyes. She said 'Don't give me those eyes'," said Williams.

After dinner, Williams said the woman asked him to take her to the house in Neath where he was staying.

The house, he had told her, had a bedroom convered into an S&M, or sadomasochism, room known as "The Dungeon".

Williams said the woman told him: "Take me to the dungeon" before the pair took a taxi, stopping to buy three more bottles of wine.

He said when the pair arrived home they kissed in a hallway before drinking wine in the living room.

Williams said they later went upstairs and began kissing again, before they both undressed themselves and had sex in an upstairs bedroom.

"We started kissing again, we were both standing up and were kissing at the bottom of the bed by the window and I obviously was carressing her and things," Williams told the jury.

Williams, 39, of Dan-y-coed, Tonmawr, said the pair later went downstairs, but returned to the bedroom a second time and began kissing again.

He said an argument broke out between the pair and she "pawed" Williams in the face, and when she knocked his nose piercing, he had a nose bleed.

Williams said the pair returned downstairs and despite offering the woman to stay the night, she decided to leave the house.

Defence barrister, Geraint Walters, said: "Did you carry out any sexual actions when she wasn't agreeing to them?"

Williams replied: "No".

Mr Walters asked: "Did you, for one moment, think she wasn't agreeing to these sexual acts?"

Williams replied: "No".

Mr Walters also asked if the account given by Williams in his police interview was true. Williams replied: "Yes".

Williams was also asked about a series of injuries on the woman's body recorded by a doctor the following day. He said: "When you last saw her on that day, what injuries, if any, had you seen?"

Williams replied: "Just the one scratch on her breast".

The prosecution allege Williams pinned the woman down on the upstairs bed and forced her to have sex with him before completing two sex acts on her, once in the bedroom and then again in a downstairs bedroom. They say the woman then fled the house, leaving items of her clothing, including her top and jeans in the house.

A medical report showing a list of 49 separate bruises, scratches and marks on the woman's body has also been shown to the jury but a doctor said she could not confirm when the injuries were caused.

Williams denies rape and two charges of assault by penetration.
