THREE players from Carmarthen Town Youth have received international recognition.

It comes after both the Welsh Schools and Welsh Semi-pro academy squads were announced.

Three players from the Old Gold set-up attended the schools training camp at Newport. Both defender Iestyn Evans and goalkeeper Dafydd Jones attend Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi at Llandysul, while striker Sam Wilson is a student at Coleg Sir Gar.

They took part in a number of trials and friendly matches.

The under-18s will play their first game on March 1 against England in Lincoln.

Evans and Wilson have also been selected to represent the Welsh semi-pro academy side to face the Republic of Ireland at Bangor next Tuesday.
