Tough checks on meat vital
DO you believe everything you read?
Since the horse meat scandal the answer to this question should be no: it seems that issues like the horse meat scandal only come to light when ingredients are placed in our food that we don't normally have.
How long has this been going on? We are extremely vulnerable to what goes into our food.
We also take a lot at face value over our food packaging telling us what is contained within that packaging.

What is it we are eating that is coming into our food chain under the guise of beef?
As long as it states beef is that the be all and end all?
Stringent checks should be made before we receive any meat products from Europe or other countries.
Britain and Ireland should be included in these stringent checks.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) tells us that what is happening is being referred to as "food fraud". It can be called whatever.
All I want is to be eating what is stated on the packaging I am calling for much more protection from the FSA and much more Government intervention over this matter.
