Tories' high hopes for double victory
WELSH Conservative leader Nick Bourne said he is hopeful his party could see two MPs elected from Swansea on May 6.
The Gower seat has featured highly on the list of Tory targets for some time, but Mr Bourne said he also believes Rene Kinzett can win Swansea West for the Conservatives.

However, Tory victories in these seats would be considered a shock, as Labour has held the Swansea West seat since 1964 and Gower since 1904.
Mr Bourne was speaking during a visit to the city to discuss his party's transport policies.
He said: "We have launched our policy in relation to travel for pensioners. We want to retain free bus travel, but we want to extend that to train travel as well."
Mr Bourne added that the Tories wanted to focus on improving east/west road links in Wales, and said that they were "more important than north/ south" links.
The Welsh Conservative leader added: "We have made a long-term commitment on the high speed rail link to Wales. We need this link to London.
"Rene has been very strong on that."
Councillor Kinzett criticised the city's Metro bus system and the roadworks the city centre has seen in recent years.
He said: "From my perspective we should have prioritised the building of the bus station over and above ripping up the city centre for the bendy bus."
Speaking specifically about his party's chance of winning the two seats, Mr Bourne said: "In both Rene and Byron's (Davies, Tory candidate for Gower) cases, they have been working in these constituencies for a long time.
"We are in with a very strong chance.
"It is important we fight for every vote we can. I think there's a general feeling that Labour has had 13 years to make a difference.
"They have made a difference — we can see the problems that face Swansea as a city.
"Either we have five more years of Gordon Brown or a change with David Cameron and the compassionate, modern approach of David Cameron's Conservatives.

“Finally someone who talks some sense.
I'm 100% convinced that swansea local authority has caused all the choas and congestion on the road system in a misguided attempt to wind people up so much they'll take public transport
how can you justify putting traffic lights on a roundabout or having pedestrian crossings that'll randomly change to red, no ones pressed the button so why did the lights change?”
