Time running out for winter wonder

BUSINESS leaders in Carmarthen have until the end of this week to find a location for a winter wonderland extravaganza — or risk losing out on thousands of pounds being pumped into the town's economy.

Bosses at Swansea-based Studt Funfairs say time is now running out to identify a suitable site after the Quay was ruled out due to health and safety reasons.

The family-run firm said it was prepared to bring the event to the town free of charge — and waiver a usual set-up fee. It would see an ice rink and stalls along with festive entertainment.

Urgent talks are expected to take place tonight over possible locations at a meeting of the town's chamber of trade and commerce.
