Tigers claim first win of season
TEIGROD Teilo won their first game of the season in the Carmarthenshire Junior Football League Under-12 division with a 2-1 victory at home to Calsonic.
First-half goals by Seth Garrard and Alex Davies started Teilo on the road to success but a second-half strike by Gwion Jones cut the deficit for the visitors.
Unbeaten Carmarthen Stars recorded their fifth straight win following an 8-1 triumph against visitors Drefach
Callum Collins-Davies scored twice before the break for the Stars and completed his hat-trick after it. Toby Davies added two second-half goals to one scored in the first period. Iestyn O'Leary and Luke Lane completed the scoring but not before the home side had gifted Drefach an own goal.
Taking the field with only nine players, Johnstown surprised Saron when taking a 1-0 lead, but the home side fought back through Joe Lewis who equalised before the interval.
Three quick goals changed the course of the game after the break with Saron coming out on top 4-2 thanks to Jay Tunney, Dylan Carmichael and Aled Saunders.
Dafen and Hendy are the front runners in the Under-13 division with both teams continuing their winning ways with 8-2 and 3-2 victories over respective opponents Teigrod Teilo and Pontarddulais.
Teilo beat the Dafen defence on two occasions thanks to Lewis Carter and Oliver Weed. Tristan Jenkins pocketed a hat-trick for Dafen.
Johnstown had a more comfortable ride, beating Tumble 3-0 courtesy of two goals by Mikael Kzazciakski and one from George Davies. Saron beat Loughor 5-1.
Curtis Price-Williams and Steffan Griffiths shared four of the goals with Carwyn Morris and Sean Howells also beating the Loughor defence.
Four goals by Lewis Rees paved the way for Ammanford to beat Seaside 7-3. Joe Parkin supplied two more for Ammanford, whose last came from Levi Gape.
Callum Evans opened the scoring for Seaside with Josh Nicholas and Alex Powell keeping the scoreboard ticking over the in the second half.
Bancffosfelen might not have won a game to date in the Under-14 division, but it won't have been for the lack of trying after they took a 2-0 lead against visitors Dafen in their latest outing only to go behind 3-2 before leaving the field with a deserved point in a 3-3 draw.
A cross by Cameron Collins found the net from 25 yards, while Gareth Davies claimed a goal when the ball hit his back from a corner to make it 2-0. Dafen controlled most of the second half and took the lead after Eray Wilson netted twice with Ethan Bockman adding a third. Banc got a point when Gareth Davies sent a late penalty into the net.
Connor Davies scored a consolation goal for Llandovery who went down 8-1 at home to Tumble.
In the Under-15 division, skipper Jamie Rafferty led his Drefach side by example with a hat-trick helping defeat Tumble 6-2.
Man of the match Jack Griffiths also beat the Tumble defence as did Ethan Moore and Alex Rapson.
Felinfoel were heading for a 1-0 win at Ammanford following a first-half goal by Joe Walsh but the home side spoiled the party with a late equaliser.
Penyfan kept their unbeaten record with a 3-1 win against visitors Teigrod Teilo coming on the back of goals by Otto Sathong, Jacob Smith and Jamie Phillips. Cory Baldwin pulled one back for Teilo.
Ten-man Teigrod Teilo put Under-16 title hopefuls Pontlliw on the back foot for most of the first half when taking an early 1-0 lead courtesy of Steve Evans.
And they were full value for their 2-1 lead thanks to Steffan-Ingram-Jones, before numbers told as Pontlliw took the three points on offer with a 3-2 win.
Calsonic opened their account in the Under-16s division with a 3-1 victory over Saron. Michael Thomson, James Weston and Leon Morris scored for Calsonic, while Mike Fripp cut the deficit for the visitors.
