Many Tears Animal Rescue Centre column by owner Sylvia Van Atta
DO you ever get out of bed and wonder why you ever bothered getting up that morning, as the day seemed to have been a complete disaster?
Here at Many Tears there are days just like that, where the dark seems to far override the light, yet if you step back and look deeper there truly are some rays of sunshine.
The challenges we meet here every day are what makes us strong!
Recently, Many Tears was going through a very dark time, yet once the word got out that we were struggling financially wonderful people both locally and far afield stepped up with letters of support, time, goods for the dogs and goods for us to raffle and sell, as well as financial help.
It was totally overwhelming for the staff and myself to see that all the work we do has not gone unnoticed and that people care as much as we do about helping and saving dogs.
We now know that with dedication and hard work and everyone's support we can carry on saving lives in the year ahead, and hopefully many more.
So we wanted to say a huge thank you from all at Many Tears, both those with two legs and four. Especially dogs like our beautiful pair of foxhounds, that sadly ended up in a local pound where they so nearly ended their days until we picked them up.
Now they have had the chance to taste an easier life with duvets for their weary bones to lie on, and food, treats love and attention.
A thank you we are sure from our darling schnauzer poodle cross Winston, taken to a vet to be destroyed as his ears were so sore he snapped at people touching them.
Now after three weeks of treatment, love and help to learn to trust, no snapping, just a grateful wagging tail.
Also a thank you from our poor sweet Tundra, who has never been handled and never knew sweet words whispered to her, or a kind hand laid on her, who had never had a warm basket or a cuddle from her own loving person — until she came to us, and now has all the chances she needs.
There are so many more who would if they could say thank you.
I just wanted every one to know even when every thing seems terrible, with prayers hard work and belief, the darkest hours can turn into sunshine.
For the soul can have no rainbows, less the eyes shed some tears.
