Taylor remains on brink of Newcastle move
NEIL Taylor remains close to a move to Newcastle, despite being linked with Everton.
It had been suggested the Merseysiders were ready to join the hunt for the Swansea City defender. But the Evening Post understands there has been no interest from boss David Moyes.

Everton are strong at left-back, a position where England defender Leighton Baines shone for them last season.
Taylor has two years to run on his current contract, but has been allowed to speak to Newcastle after their £1 million bid triggered a clause in his contract.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has also held talks with the former Wrexham man to try to convince him to stay in South Wales.
Sources in Newcastle suggested Taylor was on the verge of signing for Alan Pardew's side late last week.
But Swansea want the best possible deal for a player who, at 22, is already a Welsh international.
Newcastle have been looking to bolster their left-back options with Jose Enrique seemingly set to leave St James' Park.

“Got to agree with phildavies14 here. Why is NT being ungrateful ? The Swans signed him because they thought he could improve the team and for no other reason. If someone thinks they're bettering themselves then good luck to them, the thought of playing in front of 50,000 fans every other week must be quite enticing.
If he does go, I hope that the Swans go on to make him rue his move.”

“phildavies14 i suggest you read what others have written with more care. at no point do i mention him bad mouthing the club just that he is ungrateful and greedy. being ungrateful has nothing to do with anything he has said and as you have pointed out he has had his head turned hence the jibe at his agent. as for your comments that we would all do it for personal gain speak for yourself we are not all as selfish as you. i have been placed in a position where my personal gain would have been detrimental to someone who has helped me in the past and there is nothing on this earth that would have made me do it. i am grateful for what they did for me in the past and remember that I WOULDN'T HAVE WHAT I HAVE WITHOUT THEM!”

Fact - Whether we are favorites to get relegated or not, we are talking about a 22 year old, not a 42 year old. We all knew nothing at that age. If he is offered double the amount of money on offer at Swansea, for 4 years, and with a club whose odds on staying in that league are better than ours, what do you think he should do? Get real
To all fans... Stop banging on about loyalty. None of us have it. From work to social life we have none of it. We would all take a job elsewhere for more money and we all like to look at the 'girl in the corner with the big t**s' as we assume she's better than what we have at home.
Time to grow up. The players owe us nothing.

“He was happy to come to Swansea from Wrexham when no one else wanted him. If he want's to go, let him. No point in keeping unhappy players. However he should remember there are other players who, having believed their own publicity, left before him and most have failed outside Swansea City.”
