Talk on Vernon Watkins to the Gower Society in Sketty
SWANSEA'S "other" poet is to be explored next week.
Vernon Watkins is the subject of a talk entitled Vernon, and Dylan to the Gower Society on Saturday , which will include readings of several of his poems and his prose by various people.
Although older, Watkins, who worked in a bank in Wind Street, struck up a firm friendship with Dylan.
A spokesman for the Gower Society said: "While Dylan Thomas more often than not grabs the headlines his friend and contemporary, Vernon Watkins, who lived in Pennard and died in Seattle in 1967, has been somewhat overlooked.
