TEENAGERS in Swansea have been getting their teeth into loan sharks who are targeting vulnerable people in communities.

A team of 16 to 19-year-olds training with Swansea Council's Lifelong Learning and Employment Training Service took a shark-shaped mascot to warn people not to fall victim to predatory lenders.

Team member Ian Reynolds said: "We had some funding from Lloyds TSB to spend on money management education, so the trainees carried out some research into the money problems that were faced by people in Swansea."

“An anti-loan shark campaign funded by Lloyds TSB - That's like an Anti-booze campaign funded by Stella Artois!

Lloyds who are constantly on the phone to my wife pestering her to take out a loan or increase her credit card, the same people who repossess homes kicking people out onto the streets and take taxpayer money to give bonuses to the top in command... This campaign is funded by them to help keep customers away from their competitors it seems more than it is to help anybody.”
