Swansea school's digital learning project leads the way in Wales
A digital learning scheme for young children at a Swansea school is leading the way for teaching in Wales.
Parents of children as young as three have been learning how to boost their child's learning using computers, cameras and remote-controlled cars in a digital learning initiative at St Thomas Primary School.
Mums and dads have been teaming up with their children to develop reading, writing and maths skills by using special computer software as part of the unique partnership between St Thomas Primary School, Swansea Council and Swansea University.
The Welsh Government's Learning and Skills Observatory Wales (LSO) hailed St Thomas Primary School's work with the Swansea University SPLICT project as best practice for digital classroom teaching across the country.

Families were trained to use the software and an associated website to create stimulating and educational activity for children at school and home.
The learning initiative has not only seen children using computers to bring stories to life and draw letters, shapes and numbers, but it has also seen them using video cameras and toys such as remote-control cars to understand and capture their world.
Mum Rebecca Burrows said she was thrilled with the way the initiative had helped her son Jude improve his literacy skills.
She said: "It has been of benefit to be able to spend time together with the children, using different software that we were given and creating things. Jude has really enjoyed that opportunity.
And Dave Tyler, Head Teacher at St Thomas Primary School, said the project gave staff the equipment and skills to work with children.
He said: "We are delighted to have seen marked improvement in ICT skills, confidence, reading and spoken skills among the nursery children.
"It has also enabled more engagement with parents helping foster a better relationship with the school and boosting their children's learning."
Kieran Costello, Swansea Council Education Department's head of school ICT said: "St Thomas is just one example of excellent practice being developed in Swansea.
"The Learning and Skills Observatory Wales (LSO) is a portal that provides users access to education, learning, skills and labour market news, information and research materials."
