ANGEL Rangel has sent a get-well message to Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova — the man who signed him earlier in his career.

Vilanova (right) was last night set to step down from his post after a tumour he had removed last year reappeared.

The Swansea City star explained: "He has come back from this before and hopefully he will get back to normal and he can be a coach again.

"I have seen people saying he might not be able to coach anymore, but hopefully he can fight the illness and be himself again.

"He tried to sign me when he was at Figueres (in 2004) but I signed for their rivals Girona.

"Then he went to be sporting director at Terrassa and he signed me then (in 2006) — he was always chasing me.

"He is a great man, very humble and a very nice person.

"I am not in touch with him so much now he is a manager, but at Christmas we always exchange messages and I will do the same this year.

"He is only a young man. Football is our job, but health is the most important thing. It must be very hard for him and his family but hopefully he can get back to being himself again."
