Swansea road re-opened following collision

One of Swansea’s most busy arterial roads has been closed to vehicles following a traffic collision – but is now being reopened. (2.16pm)

Both lanes of the A483 – Carmarthen Road – were closed following the incident, which involved a Polo and Peugeot 307, just before 1pm.

One person was taken to hospital following the incident, but police describe their injuries as ‘non-life threatening’.

Long tail backs were reported between Cadle roundabout and Penllergaer.

    “The road was closed for only 1¼ hours? What has got into the police? Usually they close the road for two days if someone runs over a hedgehog.”
