Swansea man accused of biting off part of father's nose
A SWANSEA man has appeared in court accused of biting off part of his father's nose.
Christopher Sims, aged 20, allegedly attacked Royston Williams in the city's Townhill area on February 16.
Sims, of Bryn Road, Brynmill, is accused of biting off the tip of his father's nose in an incident in Gomer Road.
Legal issues in the case were discussed yesterday when the defendant was brought from custody for a short preliminary hearing before Judge Keith Thomas.
Christine Jones, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court that Sims had been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Adjourning, the judge said the allegation would be formally put to Sims at a plea and case management hearing, which would take place on April 9.
The judge directed that the prosecution should prepare documents on the case and serve them on the defendant's solicitors by March 26.
