Mrs Bucket Cleaning Services was set up seven years ago with just £20 worth of leaflets, a vacuum cleaner and a staff of one.
The company now employs 120 staff and has expanded from a purely domestic cleaning service to offering commercial cleaning services in Swansea, Cardiff and Bristol.
On reaching the final of the FSB Streamline UK Business Awards, its founder said: "I'm delighted and I feel it's a great achievement to have reached the final of this very prestigious awards ceremony.
"I was lucky enough to win the Young Entrepreneur Category in the National Final of the BSBC Awards five years ago, and I am very excited to be back on a UK stage with other small entrepreneurs."
Each finalist has been entered into the UK final for their category with £4,500 up for grabs for each category winner.
One business will also be selected as overall winner of the FSB Streamline UK Business of the Year Award and receive an additional £5,000, and a business consultancy package from Streamline, the FSB and its partners worth a further £5,000 to help the winner to grow the business.
Streamline managing director Darren Wilson said: "We created these awards to champion small businesses across the country and the standard was such that it has been incredibly difficult to identify the finalists.
"Of all the entries we received these local businesses really stood out and we are really looking forward to meeting them all at the event in April."
FSB Wales Development Manager for South Wales Dai Davies said: "We'd like to congratulate these finalists from South Wales.
"They demonstrate the fantastic wealth of small businesses that are so important to the area and it is great to be able to recognise them for their success and dedication."
