Swansea crash to defeat
SWANSEA suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss home loss to Stourport in their latest fixture in the Conference West division of the Investec Womens' Hockey League.
Swansea, without eight players due to international commitments, were put under pressure from the start by the league newcomers.
Swansea did manage to keep the ball for periods of the game, but just couldn't sustain any form of consistency.
Stourport's constant pressure and Swansea playing with an inexperienced squad led to multiple midfield turnovers and a much stretched Swansea formation.

And the result was a goal for the visitors in the 27th minute which was enough for a 1-0 advantage at half-time.
Swansea started the second half with a renewed vigour with their forwards setting the tone, working hard to win possession.
Their attack on the 'D' won several corners, one of which was converted with a deflection by Bridget Radice in the 40th minute.
However, it didn't stay level for long and seven minutes later Stourport reacted with yet another open play goal.
The game was settled when they scored their third in the 57th minute and despite Swansea's efforts late on that is how it stayed.
Swansea travel to face sixth-placed Trojans on Saturday. Swansea are currently seventh in the league standings.
