Serious Swansea assault is under investigation
POLICE are investigating a serious Swansea assault.
Officers are looking into the incident which happened on Pentregethin Road, Gendros, on Tuesday at around 1.10pm when a 34-year-old man sustained serious head injuries.
He is currently being treated in University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff in the wake of the attack.
A Swansea police spokesman said an arrest had been made in connection to the incident.
He said: "Police in Swansea are investigating a serious assault, which happened on Pentregethin Road, Gendros, at about 1.10pm on Tuesday, when a 34-year-old man sustained serious head injuries.
"Following the attack the victim was conveyed to the UHW Cardiff where he is currently undergoing treatment.
"A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody at Swansea Central Police station."
Police investigating the case are still looking for more information.
The spokesman added: "This incident happened in a busy residential area in broad day light; officers are appealing to anyone who saw the assault or who may have any relevant information to come forward."
