Swansea University students warned to keep tales of boozy nights out off Facebook
STUDENTS are being urged to keep their boozy tales off Facebook amid fears it could hit their career prospects.
The warning comes after Swansea University students were urged to talk about their sexual exploits and binge drinking by a group on the site. But the university and Students' Union have warned those posting on the page that future employers carry out internet checks before offering jobs to their employees.
Registrar Raymond Ciborowski and Students' Union president Tom Upton said in a joint statement: "We are seriously concerned about the nature and content of this page, on several fronts.
"Students are sharing personal information, including explicit content, with an anonymous page administrator, who has no accountability.
