WAYNE Routledge has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with Swansea City.

The 28-year-old winger had 18 months left on his current deal, and he has been rewarded for a sparkling season in which he has scored five goals from 29 appearances.

Swansea are the ninth club of Routledge's nomadic career, though the former Newcastle and Tottenham wide player seems to be more settled in South Wales than he ever has been.

Routledge is the second player to commit his future to the Swans in the last week after top-scorer Michu extended his stay at the Liberty Stadium until 2016.
