IT would be fair to say  Swansea City have been a thorn in Liverpool’s side over the last two seasons.

During that time they have beaten them twice and secured a  goalless  draw at Anfield last term under the guidance, of course, of current Reds manager, Brendan Rodgers.

Swansea have an excellent chance to continue their role as awkward customers on Saturday, fresh from a fine victory over Newcastle last weekend.

As City were securing maximum points, Liverpool were beating Wigan 3-0 at home and they arrive at the Liberty Stadium one place and one point behind the Swans in the league table, undefeated in their last seven league fixtures.

Given that they have lost only one of their last six league matches, it’s a surprise to see Swansea priced at 12-5 (Skybet) to overhaul Liverpool.

The visitors, available at 11-10 with Paddy Power, have won only once away from Anfield and failed to score against Swansea in the league last term.

Little wonder that BetVictor’s 18-5 for the Swans to keep a clean sheet has proved so popular.

Swansea have lost only once at home and the Reds have suffered only one defeat in an away fixture, records which suggest the stalemate — offered at 5-2  by William Hill — cannot be discounted.

Swansea’s home form, while not spectacular, has been steady enough and Stan James’s 10-3 for them to secure victory by a one-goal margin is attractive enough to tempt.

The 5-4 offered by BetVictor.com for the Welsh side to open the scoring catches the eye.

Backers conscious that a Swansea win could conceivably put them level on points with Arsenal may fancy the look of Stan James’s  10-1  in favour of a 1-0 home victory.
