Swansea City target Franco Di Santo joins Werder Bremen
FRANCO Di Santo, the former Wigan striker who was a target for Swansea City, has joined German side Werder Bremen on a free transfer.
Argentina international Di Santo left Wigan after his contract had expired following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.
The 24-year-old attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Swansea, who are eager to add a striker as cover for club-record signing Wilfried Bony.
But ex-Chelsea man Di Santo has penned a three-year deal with Werder after passing a medical with the former Bundesliga champions on Tuesday.
"Werder have a very good name and the Bundesliga is a very attractive league," said Di Santo.
"I want to show what I am capable of here".
