Swansea City striker Michu in contention to face Manchester United but Michel Vorm is out
MICHU is a surprise contender to feature for Swansea City against Manchester United tomorrow — but Michel Vorm has been ruled out with concussion.
Angel Rangel will also miss out after picking up a calf injury, though Chico Flores may return from an ankle problem.
Michu, Swansea's Spanish top-scorer, was initially expected to miss the rest of the season after straining his hamstring in last weekend's goalless draw with Manchester City.
But he has recovered quicker than expected and is now pushing to be involved when Swansea visit the Premier League champions.
"Michu was in training yesterday. We will have to see because I don't want to force anything but everyone wants to play at old Trafford," said Michael Laudrup.
"I will talk to him and Chico and see how they are. I thought a hamstring injury would be that for the season, but it has not torn and it has gone well so he is a possibility. If not, then for the last game against Fulham.
"There are a few more question marks about others, but whoever is on the pitch we will be competitive."
Ki Sung-Yueng is again expected to miss out because of a dead leg. Swansea's game at Wigan on Tuesday was held up for nine minutes after a clash of heads between Vorm and Ben Davies.
The defender got back to his feet and continued, but Vorm had to be stretched off.
He later walked out of the DW Stadium with swelling around his face and flew home with his team-mates.
But the Dutch goalkeeper has to spend a mandatory spell on the sidelines because he suffered a head injury.
"He's much better, but when you are gone (knocked out) for just a few seconds he must be out for a week," added Laudrup.
