"I need to get a few more games under my belt and hopefully I can do that at Wrexham.
"I enjoyed my time there last season, although I didn't play as much as I would have liked because of a hamstring and back injury.
"I got to know the lads well and it will be nice to see them again.
"It's a good time to go there with them second in the league because they will all be pressure games which is great for my development.
"The Blue Square Premier is a good standard and tougher than people think, so hopefully I can learn a lot from the experience."
Alfei could make his second debut for Wrexham at Braintree Town on Saturday, but he will not be eligible for the FA Cup.
The 20-year-old joins a Wrexham side who are flying high under Andy Morrell, and are behind only Newport County in the race for promotion to the Football League.
Alfei made an impressive senior debut for the Swans against Colchester in the FA Cup in the 2010-11 campaign.
He followed that up with a cameo appearance against Crystal Palace a week later.
He made one first team appearance last season, in the Carling Cup defeat at Shrewsbury, before joining Wrexham.
