Former Swansea City star Steven Caulker in England squad
FORMER Swansea City star Steven Caulker has been called into the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with San Marino and Montenegro.
He has been named as a replacement for Rio Ferdinand, who has pulled out as he looks to manage his fitness, England boss Roy Hodgson has announced.
But the Manchester United defender, who earned his first call-up under Hodgson for the double header, insisted he wants to continue his international career.
Hodgson said: "I'm disappointed Rio will not be available, but due to the detailed pre-planned training and medical programme he must follow it's not possible."
