CHICO Flores is refusing to give up hope in his battle to be fit for Wembley.

The Swansea City star definitely misses Sunday's trip to Liverpool thanks to the ankle ligament injury he suffered in last weekend's win over Queens Park Rangers.

    Hopeful... Chico Flores

And though the experts also expect him to be sidelined come the Capital One Cup final in nine days' time, Flores is adamant he still has a chance of facing Bradford City.

"Chico is being treated several times every day," reported Swansea boss Michael Laudrup.

"It will be very difficult for him to reach the cup final, but the physios are doing everything they can, so we will have to wait and see if he makes it.

"If Chico isn't fit then I have three or four options to choose from."

Flores has been in Dubai with the rest of the Swansea squad this week.

They jet into Merseyside today ahead of the Liverpool game with Garry Monk and Kyle Bartley battling it out to partner Ashley Williams in central defence at Anfield.

“Good luck cheeks, fans have really taken to you down here.
I think Gary Monk would play the game of his life though and it would be nice for him to play.

So from a performance point of view I am not too worried.

Kyle should play vs liverpool, gary monk should play at wembley.

If we are winning easily, it would be nice to play as many guys as possible so they can expereince it.”

No, we have two, Monk or Bartley. Anything else would be stupid.”
