Swansea City skipper Ashley Williams may miss Arsenal's visit
ASHLEY Williams is doubtful for tomorrow’s match against Arsenal as he remains troubled by an ankle problem.
The Swansea City skipper has been carrying the injury for a number of weeks and sat out Wednesday’s 3-1 Capital One Cup defeat to Birmingham.
But the issue is still a major concern, and Laudrup fears the centre-back will not be able to feature against the Gunners.
“At the moment I would say it’s more no than yes,” said Laudrup.
“I’m a little worried, not because the injury is serious but worried that if he does not get recovery time it could go on.
“He has played a lot of games and we have another one on Thursday and again the Sunday after.
“Then there’s a break, but he has to go and play two games with Wales.
“Long term we have to look at what we are going to do. I would never ask a player to step down (from international duty) but I think it’s important that we and Wales find a solution to benefit both.
“Whether now or in November, he needs two weeks without a game.”
If Williams does miss out, Jordi Amat is expected to partner Chico Flores in central defence.
