Swansea City's Gerhard Tremmel vows to overcome penalty disappointment
GERHARD Tremmel insists he will not be fazed by Thursday’s late penalty disappointment against Kuban Krasnodar.
Swansea City were on course to maintain their 100 per cent Europa League record as the game entered its closing stages with a Michu goal separating the sides.
But in injury time, substitute Ibrahima Balde raced towards goal before being brought down by Tremmel.
The goalkeeper was booked and former Queens Park Rangers striker Djibril Cisse scored from the spot to earn his side a last-gasp share of the spoils.
“It’s quite disappointing for me and for the team of course, but that’s how football is,” said Tremmel.
“I have been in those situations many, many times in football. It was a decision made within a second and this time I couldn’t get it.
“I can’t say if it was a penalty. I might have touched the ball slightly, but I can’t blame the referee because from his angle it’s so hard to decide whether I touched the ball or not."
