Manu is an attacking midfielder or wide player who scored 39 times in 157 La Liga games for Getafe before joining Sevilla in a 5 million euro deal in 2011.
The 28-year-old former Atletico Madrid youngster has been capped once by Spain.
Swansea have also been linked with Senegal international Moussa Konate as they bid to sign an attacking player on loan for the rest of the season.
Swansea defenders Garry Monk and Alan Tate, meantime, have both been touted as potential targets for Championship side Brighton.
