Swansea City forward Michu thought to be on Arsenal radar
MICHU is reportedly interesting Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
Swansea City's scoring sensation was the Premier League's surprise package last season.
His impact is believed to have sparked enquiries up and down the country as top club's scouts were asked to explain how they overlooked such a prolific forward.
Though Michu's preferred position is as a second striker, Wenger is thought to want the former Rayo Vallecano man to lead the Gunners' line.
The Arsenal manager has put an attacking spearhead at the top of his summer shopping list, with Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain, Stevan Jovetic of Fiorentina and Wayne Rooney all thought to be targets.
Wenger has also been linked to Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Manchester City hitman Edin Dzeko as he explores a range of options in pursuit of a top class centre forward.
And a shock move for Michu is said to have been discussed by Wenger and his scouting team.
The Spaniard enjoyed an excellent debut Premier League season, scoring 22 goals after his £2.2 million move from La Liga.
Michu struck twice as Swansea secured a dramatic late win at the Emirates last season, and he netted again when Arsenal visited SA1 for an FA Cup tie a month later.
Widely hailed as one of the best Premier League buys of all time, the 27-year-old signed a new contract tying him to Swansea for another three seasons.
Arsenal are also thought to be tracking Swansea centre-back Ashley Williams.
