Swansea City fans warned of the dangers of flammable novelty wigs
SWANS fans heading to Wembley are being warned of the dangers of flammable mochican wigs.
Trading Standards Officers have found that some black and white which are being sold in the city are high flammable and could cause serious injury if worn near a naked flame.
David Picken, Swansea Council’s Trading Standards Officer, said: “We want everyone travelling to London on Sunday to have a great time and proudly wear the colours of the Swans.
“Fans have the opportunity to buy lots of different novelty items such as wigs and scarves. Some wigs we have tested fall well below current safety standards.
“Our message is simple. If you have bought any of these novelty wigs and plan to wear it at the match or anywhere else then you should act responsibly and avoid contact with lit cigarettes or flames from matches and lighters.”
Officers will be patrolling both the railway station and bus station on the morning of the game and will be looking out for potentially dangerous gifts on sale to fans.
