Swansea City close in on Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas
SWANSEA City are being heavily linked with Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas.
Sources in Spain claim Swansea have offered one million euros for the player, and that a slightly higher bid is likely to land him.
A defensive midfielder, Canas came through the youth ranks at Betis where he has gone on to make more than 100 appearances, scoring one goal.
The 25-year-old has played 15 La Liga games this season for a Betis side who are chasing a Europa League spot. But financial pressures in Spain may force the Seville side to sell.

Canas made his first-team debut in 2009 in a 2-0 home loss against Atletico Madrid late in a season that ended with Betis relegated from La Liga.
He was included in Betis's main squad for the 2010-2011 campaign as they returned to the top flight after winning the second tier.
Should he sign, Canas will further strengthen Swansea's holding midfield options.
Leon Britton, Ki Sung-Yueng and Kemy Agustien have all been deployed in that position this season, as has Mark Gower.
But the former Southend man has not played a first-team game since September.
