Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup closing on Michu signing
SWANSEA City are edging closer to an eye-catching deal for Rayo Vallecano midfielder Michu.
Rayo claimed yesterday a deal had been agreed with Swansea and that Michu was set to discuss personal terms at the Liberty.

But Huw Jenkins stressed that such stories were premature.
“I have seen the reports saying that they (Rayo) have confirmed a deal has been agreed, but nobody has told me,” said the Swansea chairman.

“He is a player we have made a strong enquiry about, but that is as far as it has gone so far.”
Swansea are thought to have offered somewhere between £1.5 million and £2.2 million for a player who scored 15 La Liga goals last season.
It seems a paltry fee for a player with such an impressive record, but Rayo are in administration and as a result are desperate to sell.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Sevilla are among a string of other sides who have been touted as potential suitors for Michu, but it seems Swansea are the only club who have so far tabled a bid.
And there are also suggestions that Michu is keen for a chance to work under Michael Laudrup.
The 26-year-old, who would be regarded as a replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson, has previously had stints with Oviedo and Celta Vigo.
Jenkins told the Post that Swansea have bid for more than one player in Spain — and there is speculation that another player known as Miku could be on the radar.
Miku, real name Nicolás Fedor, is a Venezuelan international who finished as 12-goal top-scorer at La Liga club Getafe last season.
The 26-year-old centre-forward came through the ranks at Valencia and, after a string of loan spells, has established himself with Getafe — one of Laudrup’s former clubs — over the past two-and-a-half seasons.

“Nice try Huwbert. Love the low key approach.”
