Swansea City beat Sunderland 4-0 in the Premier League
SWANSEA City produced a scintillating second half display to thrash Sunderland 4-0 at the Liberty.
After a lacklustre first 45 minutes, the breakthrough came when Phil Bardsley put through his own net just before the hour following a Jonathan de Guzman corner.
A minute later the Dutch international scored a sublime second, placing the ball beyond Keiren Westwood and into the top corner.
Wilfried Bony grabbed a third from the penalty spot after Craig Gardner had brought down Leon Britton.
And Chico Flores completed the rout ten minutes from time when he turned in another de Guzman flag kick.
The second half was in stark contrast to an uneventful first period.
Swansea struggled to find their normal rhythm as passes went astray and unforced errors crept into their play.
Jordi Amat lost Steven Fletcher from a corner in the 13th minute and the Scottish striker fired an effort wide.
The closest Swansea came was through a 33rd minute de Guzman free-kick that drifted wide, while Flores hooked the ball into Bony following another of Dutchman’s set pieces.
