Swans thought about cancelling visit to Dubai
MICHAEL Laudrup has admitted Swansea City considered cancelling their trip to Dubai over the Itay Shechter affair.
Swansea head back to Britain tomorrow after their warm-weather training stint in the Middle East.
And Laudrup has revealed that the camp could have been called off when it emerged that Shechter would be barred from entering Dubai because of his Israeli passport.
Swansea only realised late last week that the striker would not be granted a visa because the United Arab Emirates do not recognise Israel as a state.

And they decided that the best option at that stage would be to press ahead with the trip.
"It (cancellation) was a possibility, but I thought we'd just made the arrangements and then would have to change," Laudrup explained.
"Itay hadn't been home for five months so I said to him to go back for these three or four days.
"Right now he's happy being home with his family and training.
"When we plan things like this we will look into if all our players can come, but it depends if we're going for three days or for ten days.
"Pre-season would be completely different — I would never do anything like this then."
Swansea will be reunited with Shechter tomorrow when they fly into Liverpool ahead of Sunday's Premier League game at Anfield.

“Shameful.
The rationalizations are repugnant - 'we already made plans', 'we didn't know he would be banned','next time we might act differently', 'he's happy to have time with his family'.
Everyone in their life is given an opportunity to act nobly and publicly.
And some drop the ball”

“Great board room decision that Michael, where would young Itay prefer to be Dubai or home, no contest really, he'll come back alike is mates from Dubai refreshed and raring to go. I was a bit miffed at first regarding splitting the team, but that was the most sensible outcome in my eye's. Great managerial skills shown yet again. Best of luck against Liverpool, they'll be out to trip us up in front of their own fans and that's a fact.
C'mon u SwansssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssYeehaa.”
