MICKEY Thomas reckons Swansea City are the best side in the Premier League on current form.

The former Manchester United winger was at the Emirates to watch Michael Laudrup's side secure a landmark victory against Arsenal last Saturday.

And he was glowing in his assessment of their performance.

"We shouldn't be surprised because I said on the weekend they are like Barcelona — there are similarities," said Thomas.

"I think because they come from Wales, a small country, they don't get the recognition they deserve.

"Let me tell you, I watch all the Premier League on a regular basis and they are the best team at this moment in time.

"I watch a lot of Manchester United and Swansea now are on the same level as them in terms of ability throughout the team. They've got the lot.

"I'm not saying their squad is better than Manchester United's or Chelsea's, but Swansea's first XI is magnificent.

"I can't see many teams beating them this season."

Thomas also hailed Michu, who struck twice in the dying minutes to floor the Gunners.

"He's got a big price on his head now," the ex-Welsh international told Radio Wales.

"He's a complete player, for me, and a clinical finisher."

Swansea, meantime, say some tickets are still available for Saturday's home league clash with Norwich City.

Tickets are also on sale now for the Capital One Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough at the Liberty next Wednesday.
