Sun shines down on Brynmill Park for community event
VOLUNTEERS have been praised for their part in ensuring a community event went off without a hitch.
And the weather played a big part too, as the sun shone down on Brynmill Park on Saturday, before today's heavy storms.
Friends of Brynmill Park organised a Dylan Thomas Fun Day at the spot, aimed at bringing people from the area together.
The event was funded by a grant from the National Lottery and ran all afternoon with live music from the Constellation Big Band and the Mellotones, among others.
Children were also entertained with a magic show and face painting.
Peter May, chairman of the Tom Morgans Friends of Brynmill Park said: "We are thankful to the National Lottery for their continued support for our park.
"I'd also like to thank all the individuals who came along to help, in particular the Life Point Church who provided a lot of volunteer help from 8am in putting up the marquees.
"I'd also like to thank the Deputy Lord Mayor for her support.
"We had a very good attendance."
