A CHINESE student who drove his £30,000 car while disqualified has been fined.

Sibo Wang, 22, of Fisherman's Way, Swansea, admitted two counts of driving while disqualified and another two of driving with no insurance at Swansea Magistrates' Court.

The offences, on November 7 and November 30, happened while Wang was driving his BMW at Swansea Marina. Wang said he had not understood the terms of his original driving ban imposed on October 25 because an interpreter was not available at court.

Wang will remain in custody because the Border Agency had revoked his visa.
