A SECOND library has closed in the Gwendraeth Valley — just weeks after another in the area.

The closure of the library in the leisure centre follows that of Tumble Library, after records showed an average of one user a week.

The decision came after residents who responded to a consultation said they would prefer a doctor's surgery to be located there, after the current surgery building was closed.

Trimsaran councillor Meryl Gravelle said the service would be replaced by a "much, much better" mobile service, and was part of a wider improvement of services in the village.

“I user per week. What a waste of money.”
