Store wars puts jobs in balance
A RIVAL supermarket has opposed plans for a new Sainsbury's store in the Gwendraeth Valley — leaving 600 jobs hanging in the balance.
Pressure is mounting on the Welsh Government to allow the scheme to go ahead in what is being called a "vital" part of the future of Cross Hands.
Ministers called the plans in following objections from three residents and the Co-op, which has a store in Llandeilo Road.
Ward councillor Emlyn Dole said: "It would be an immense setback if it doesn't go through."
