OLDER people's charity WRVS is urging the elderly in Wales to keep warm and safe this winter.

The charity has launched a campaign — Stay safe, stay well, stay warm, stay in touch — to make sure pensioners take all the precautions they need to ensure they keep well during the cold months.

Sally Rivers, WRVS head of operations for Wales, said: "Winter can be a very worrying time for older people, but by getting prepared for the cold weather it doesn't have to be as stressful.

"We have outlined simple steps older people can take to make sure the cold weather doesn't affect their quality of life.
