Standing firm on wind issue

I SUSPECT it is no accident that Dave Lees (Have Your Say, February 2) launched his most savage, inaccurate attack on me a few days before our elected representatives make their decision regarding Mynydd y Gwair wind farm.

I have no financial interest in the wind industry. I support renewables because I am concerned about climate change and realise fossil fuels will not last forever and are already getting more difficult and expensive to get out of the ground.

This leads to greater risk of environmental devastation, as in the Gulf of Mexico just over a year ago.

A similar accident in the Arctic, currently being opened up by multi-national oil companies, would have far more devastating long-term effects.

Nuclear power is more expensive than renewables, particularly in the long term, and there is no need for me spell out the dangers.

Perhaps Mr Lees can explain to me and your readers why, if the truth is so dear to him and his friends, here in Wales two anti-windfarm/turbine groups have been forced to withdraw most of their campaigning material by the advertising standards body, because the information provided was inaccurate or pure fantasy?

“johndavies did you hear President Barack Obama's annual State of the Union speech. He said that for the sake of our children we must do more to combat climate change. No doubt he makes your blood boil as well lol”

( " why do you want proof off me, you don't take the word of scientists." )

I wanted YOU to conclusively prove what a tit you are…. Which you did superbly, again !!

I do take the word of scientists - 31,000 as against your 75 .

( I don't suppose you've found any more yet. You could try Kermit, he's green )”

As i've said it's you who need to change the mind of others, because it's the likes of you who's lost the argument.

PS keep them coming i want to get you up to 100 times of asking, If only neath town clock was as easy to wind up as yourself lol lol lol”

( "johndavies i don;t have to answer any of your questions " )

    Indeed you don't,
but your continued reluctance ( 8 times of asking) to either
    - prove your statement or
    - be a man & admit a mistake or
    - confess to publishing lies

Shows everyone the type of person you are.

You are obviously a 'true believer' in man made climate change & a zealot for wind turbines, I have no urge to change your mind, because as with ALL you religious zealots- no sense no reasoning.

Your knowledge of the power industry is less than we normally expect from a layman, yet you pontificate at great length & seem unable to do any proper research, just a quick Google search & cut & paste the first thing that sounds right, assuming that people will accept it without question, that's very foolish of you, but typical of most Al Gore acolytes.”

“johndavies i don;t have to answer any of your questions good boy, where do you think you are in school lol.

If you want to be taken serious then you have to address the subject in a scientific way, it's little wonder all you anti climate change brigade have lost the argument. Everyone is have a good laugh at you, including myself. I've enjoyed winding you up. BTW i think you are religious and it wouldn't go down very well denying it lol lol lol”

( "johndavies i see that your very good at not answering questions. I will ask you again are you religious" )

I'm very happy to answer questions... AFTER YOU ANSWER MINE -

    is your statement -

( "97% of scientists agree that man made climate change is happening" ).

    - TRUE or FALSE ??”

I'm glad you mentioned God, as you are sounding like a low brow religious zealot who throws out wild stories, then make up some potty 'facts' to try & justify the original fantasy, then when questioned, try to change the subject by introducing other 'proofs'.

So let me make it easy for you,
    is your statement -
( "97% of scientists agree that man made climate change is happening" ). … true or false ??

A one word answer will do.

If true, Please provide your source & actual numbers ( within 5,000 will do ).”

“johndavies take a look at country file that was on today. There is a good bit on there explaining why we are having increasing extreme weather here in the UK. It's all down to climate change and the melting of the ice caps, it will be an education for you son. BTW as a word of warning Country file is of course made by the BBC, not sure if the BBC is on your list of conspiracy theories”
