Stadium chiefs sue council
SWANSEA Council is being sued by Liberty Stadium bosses.
Stadco, the company set up by the authority to manage the day-to-day running of the stadium, has been involved in a lengthy dispute with the council.
It is apparently unhappy with a number of issues at the stadium, and has instigated legal proceedings against the council.
Swansea Council has refused to provide details of the row, and a spokesman for Stadco failed to comment, despite being given two days to respond.

“Thank goodness the council did invest some money in somethng the city actually needs.
Instead of wrecking the traffic system and useless white elephants we dont need.
Pump a few more quid into the stadium and let the local community get more benefit out of it”

“Why does'nt Chis Holley and John Hague, tell the people of Swansea the Truth. They have not received any payments from Stadco since the Swans and Ospreys moved into the stadium and the taxpayers have been funding the stadium. Before people make comments look at the audited accounts of the council and see how many council staff have been working their including a council solicitor, paid by the taxpayer. Also look at the councillors who have entertained their friends at taxpayers expense and officers of the council. One labour councillor entertained a private contractor that had nothing to do with the council. The two box's the council own at the stadium have been used by the leader of the council and council officers for their own personal use funded once again by the taxpayer and proof of this was provided to the Evening Post by a former councillor Ray Welsby so the police should get involved and ask questions?"But Will They".”

“To be fair, the Supporters Trust have been banging this drum from the day the stadium was opened, minutes are published on their website, a good journo would have read these minutes.”

“It should be pointed out, that the Council are effectively, as I found out a few years ago, self Insured for the first £50,000 of claims, after which the Insurance company, whould be 'involved'. I am not sure if this insurance figure has increased since.”

“ME - You need to know that the council owned land at Morfa was sold off for £27 million to developers and went into buidling the stadium. That is public money that could have gone on schools or pavements. Instead it was spent on two private clubs who could not make a profit or even look after their own grounds despite huge council subsidies. If that's a priority then so be it but lets get the facts right.”
