Squatters on the move again - but where to next?
MEMBERS of the Cwtch Community Centre will meet tomorrow to discuss their next move.
The activists have decided to move on from the JT Morgan department store in Belle Vue Way in Swansea city centre after they concluded the building was not suitable for their plans.
Now the group will meet at the building on Thursday to discuss what they plan to do next.
One of the members of the group, Caradog, 17, said: "We will be leaving JT Morgan.
"Personally I think as long as the energy of the group keeps going we will be fine.
"The building wasn't suitable for what we wanted to do.
"Hopefully our next place will be a bit more permanent and helpful for our needs.
"Somewhere like the Dolphin would be good, as long as it works for the people of Swansea that is what matters."
The group made headlines after they moved into the former Dolphin Hotel in Whitewalls at the end of January.
The landlord of the property, Altaf Nanji, was successful in getting an interim possession order against the group, giving them 24 hours to leave the premises or they would be breaking the law.
They then moved into the former department store where they hoped to set up a new community centre offering free teas and coffees to members of the public.
But due to a lack of electricity in the building, which has been empty since 2008, they have had to abandon their plans.
For the rest of the week the building will be used to showcase the photography of students from Swansea Metropolitan University.
"I think the exhibition has done quite well so far," Caradog said. "We need to have a look at our options and see what might happen.
"Hopefully the next place will be better for us."
Another member of the group, D Murphy, added the group will be moving out of the building after the meeting on Thursday or on Friday morning.

Seeing as your donating, I'm sure they'd appreciate some tea bags, coffee and milk while you're at it. Oh,and could I have an inner tube for my bike please
@huwwuh: "have they gone yet?"No they haven't. Aren't you paying attention, they're in Edgemoor now, getting stronger by the day- and eying up your property next by all accounts.

“@fred lynch: They provided Dick with my details..."
Ha ha wrong again. No they didnt supply me with your details, you did. Your name is in your profile
""Looks like they have forced the boarding off the door at Earlsmore in Bryn Road.
Oh dear... perhaps it would be prudent to lock your windows and doors when you go and walk your dog after all, you really don't know WHO is lurking in the bushes.
The commentators on here aren't doing a very good job stopping Cwtch are they.
Who closed Earlsmoor down I wonder? Why it was the city council of course - despite a massive high-profile campaign to keep it open.
Whats the betting it takes the council longer to get Cwtch out than it took to get the elderly patients who were there in the first place out”

“Whatever the ratings and looking at the comments that have minuses next to them, I would say the majority of all people posting here are against the actions of Caradog and co. I am against using their group name of Cwtch as it suggests something cosy and warm and this group is coming across as cold and calculating when it comes to using society as a means of funding while contributing nothing to society. Fred65, Morganrose keep talking for the ordinary people of Swansea who are against this group of ultra left, anarchistic hangers-on.”
