Spilt loyalties for Swansea City fan Steve Grey and Bradford supporting partner
WHICHEVER team takes home the Capital One Cup on Sunday, one family will be split down the middle.
Dunvant-born Steve Grey has spent the past six years living in Bradford, working for Thomas Cook travel.
And the 29-year-old Swansea fan's nerves ahead of the Wembley final have been made worse by the fact his partner Dawn Caton, is a huge Bradford City fan.
Steve said: "We met while we were holiday repping in Mallorca in 2003.
"She is a massive Bradford fan, as are all her family.
"We couldn't believe it when both clubs got through — it is warfare in our house!
"We have both got tickets for the game, she will be in the Bradford end and I will be with the Swans.
"It is difficult for me to get to most home games but I try and get away when I can, particularly when they are in the north. But we are coming down after work tomorrow and staying in Dunvant and then we are going up on a minibus with all my friends. She will be giving it as good as she gets.
"We will be both coming back to Swansea after the game, so you will either have a minibus full of Jacks celebrating the fact we have won the cup or one jubilant Bradford City fan making it the most painful journey back to South Wales for the rest of us.
"We have a little boy Evan who is four and he has both a Swans shirt and a Bradford top — the argument about that one is ongoing."
As well as having to put up with a Bradford fan at home, Steve has had no respite during the working week either.
"The stick here is never-ending, but it has been good fun," he said.
"Tomorrow we are having a claret and amber day but there will be one person wearing a Swans top!
"I think we are going to win 3-1.
