Spill becomes Swan on cabbie's door
PERHAPS it was an omen, ahead of the team's stunning performance in Spain.
Or maybe it was just chance.
Whatever it was, what seemed like a random act while decorating his home, left a smile on Gerard Duggan's face.
The cabbie, known to friends as Duggy, has recently been painting the inside his Manselton home with wife Julie.
And having rolled up their sleeves to get stuck in, there was bound to be the odd blob of paint that went astray.
And so it was, but when the couple found out where it went, they couldn't quite believe what they saw.
Duggy said: "Julie was in the front porch, and she was really giving it a go.
"The inside door was close, and I think she had overloaded the brush.
"It was full of magnolia paint, and she had a big bit of slap on the brush which went flying off.
"We couldn't see where it went at first, but thought never mind, it will turn up."
When they eventually located the missing paint blob, the shape it left had the couple laughing.
Duggy said: "We eventually found it towards the bottom of the door.
"It looked exactly like the Swans logo.
"It's not identical, it doesn't have all the wings, and it is in reverse.
"But it still looks very similar."
The famous Swans logo is easily recognised these days, particularly with the team punching their weight in the Premier League, and has left its mark in Europe, following the team's victory over Valencia in the Europa League on Thursday night.
And Swans fan Duggy added: "I've been a Swans fan all my life — it's in my family's blood.
"I go to see them whenever I can, or go and watch them down the pub.
"But if they are considering adapting their logo, they are welcome to consider this!"
