Special award marks Mark's contribution
A SPECIAL presentation has been made to a Swansea police chief on his forthcoming retirement.
Chief Superintendent Mark Mathias was given an award by the Swansea Bay Regional Equality Council (SBREC) in its executive meeting in recognition of his long service to the area's communities.
Angela Gullam, who is the chairwoman of the organisation, and one of the founding members Leonard Lawrence, of Port Talbot, made the presentation.
Mrs Gullam said: "Mark has been a pillar of strength for our communities and it is fitting that on his retirement we recognise his contributions to society."
Mr Mathias said the work of the organisation was vital.
