South Wales travel updates and school closures due to ice and snow

SCHOOLS: Some schools in Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire are closed due to the weather, while all Swansea schools are now open.

RAIL (10.30AM): Owing to signalling problems between Cardiff Central and Bridgend trains have to run at reduced speed on Westbound lines. Arriva Trains Wales said services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 10 minutes at short notice. An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.See more updates on Arriva's website.

BUS (10.30AM): Greyhound: 100 (Swansea to Cardiff) Normal service.

A fresh fall of snow is affecting services between Bridgend and Cardiff.

1, 2 Bridgend to Cefn Glas not running via Westminster Way or Longfellow Drive.

4 Bridgend to Aberkenfig not via Pugsley Gardens.

11 Bridgend to Bettws to Ynysawdre school only.

44 Bridgend to Talbot Green not via Llanharan.

62 Bridgend to Pencoed to Pencoed Monument only.

X2 Porthcawl to Cardiff running Porthcawl to Bridgend only.

X3 Maesteg to Swansea unable to run Maesteg to Bryn.

AIRPORTS: Bristol Airport is open and the majority of flights are operating as normal.

A statement on their website said: "Because adverse weather across the UK and Europe could still cause disruption in some cases, passengers are advised to contact their airline to confirm the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.

"Please allow additional journey time to the airport."

A statement on Heathrow Airport's site (10.30am) said: "The Airport fully operational although there may be some disruption to flights due to weather conditions in the UK and across Europe.

"Please allow extra time for your journey to the airport and check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling. You can also follow our updates on Twitter and Facebook."

Gatwick Airport also said they are operating as normal today, however passengers can expect some delays to flights due to weather conditions.

They said: "We do advise you to check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling to the airport.

"Due to freezing conditions overnight, some rail connections may be affected so please check with your train operator and make sure you allow plenty of time for your journey.
