South Wales Scorpions beaten by Wigan
SOUTH Wales Scorpions began their 2013 preparations with an 26-18 loss against a second-string Wigan Warriors side at The Gnoll on Sunday.
The Scorpions put in a good performance and already look like they'll be sharper than last year's side.
Scorpions took an early lead with a fine try by David James. Kayle Connor converted.
Wigan scored their first try five minutes later. Jake Shorrocks opened up a gap for Connor Farrell to run home.

The Scorpions fought back and again it was Welsh international James who pushed his way through to score. Connor converted.
But Warriors went into the break with a slender lead thanks to Andrew Cunningham's try.
Scorpions were first on the board in the second half when Steve Parry jinked through the defence to ground.
Wigan again got a try back, Rob Lever going in under the sticks following some intense pressure.
Wigan had the last say when Beecham grabbed his second try.
