ORGANISERS of this year's Escape into the Park event have revealed the big names topping the bill.

Trance group Above & Beyond will be joined by Steve Angello and legendary DJ Judge Jules for the dance music party, which comes to Swansea's Singleton Park on Saturday, June 12.

They will be joined by Singleton stalwarts including Andy C, Darren Styles, Scratch Perverts and Lisa Lashes.

Judge Jules said he enjoyed playing the Swansea event.

"I've played at Escape into the Park many times over the years and it is without doubt one of the UK's clubbing highlights of the year," he said.

"I've played at all the best clubs and nights across the world and Escape into the Park is easily up there with the best for having an amazing crowd.

"The atmosphere is always electric and it just keeps on getting bigger and better every year."

He added: "I'm really looking forward to returning to Swansea's Singleton Park — let's hope the sun shines!" The annual dance-fest is a major draw to South West Wales, with thousand of fans descending on Singleton for a day of fun and music.

The event is good news for business including hotels and taxi firms, but the day often attracts complaints from people living in neighbouring Brynmill about the loud music — and the anti-social behaviour of some revellers.

Last year's Escape event saw 13 arrests, and overall police said they were pleased with how the event went.

Launched in 2000, Escape is now the biggest dance music event in Wales.

A spokeswoman for the organisers said: "Escape into the Park continues to go from strength to strength.

"Following on from the success of last year's event, we will once again be bringing the hottest acts in dance music to Swansea for what will be another day to remember."
