PUPILS at a Carmarthenshire primary school showed their community spirit by singing for a local pensioners group.

The children at Penygroes Primary School took some time out of classes to entertain the members of the Penygroes and District Old Age Group.

The pupils, in fancy dress, showed off their vocal skills by singing a range of songs for the members of the group .

The event took place at the Penygroes Rugby Club, where the old age group meet once a month.

Derek McAndrew, chairman of Penygroes Rugby Club, said the club usually invites guests to entertain the members and the children's performance was a big success.

"It is a pleasurable afternoon for the senior citizens of the area. They always enjoy it and they really enjoyed this," he said.
